Essay Competition 2021: Human Rights Violation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK)

Dear Community Members, Assalam o Allakum!

Salam Pakistan Canada is leading community organization in national capital region, our team is always upfront on community related issues, putting efforts to protect interests of Pakistan including Kashmir issue. On annexation of Indian occupied Kashmir/abrogation of article 370 & 35-A of Indian constitution, Salam Pakistan Canada organized an historical protest on 15^th of August 2019, keeping other Pakistani origin organizations on board.

Salam Pakistan Canada, also launched Kashmir Issue awareness Campaign on 18^th of August, 2019 and distributed over 1000 broacher’s high lighting IOK Kashmir issue.

Last year, Salam Pakistan Canada, organized Kashmir Solidarity Car Rally and protest in front of Indian High Commission despite other organization refused to join. It was well attended successful Car Rally.

This year Salam Pakistan Canada is supporting Kashmir Committee of Nation Capital Region – Ottawa for all programmes relating to IOK annexation/abrogation of articles 370 & 35-A of Indian Constitution. Salam Pakistan Canada, request to all community members to encourage our youth to participate in essay writing competition. Call for Submission — 2021 Essay Competition: “Human Rights Violation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK)”

About:

This essay competition is organized by the Kashmir Committee – National Capital region. The theme, “Human Rights Violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir” is aimed at obtaining students’ views on various peace and security challenges faced by the Kashmiris in IOK. The conflict in Kashmir has gone on for seven decades and for the past two years has become increasingly brutal. This competition is open to all students enrolled in Canadian universities. Submissions will be judged by the content and clarity of the writing and analysis of the situation. Cash prices will be awarded to the best three essays.

Terrorist attack, Salam Pakistan Canada was first organization who announced Solidarity Candle Light vigil/Condolence Reference. It was not only well attended by community, members of parliament of 3 major parties, leaders of other political parties, leaders of other communities and scholars also delivered solidarity speeches during event.
